Pumpkin head photoshoot in a foggy studio

What is the pumpkin head photoshoot trend?

Every fall the pumpkin head photoshoot comes back: people put a hollowed-out, carved pumpkin over their head and pose for moody portraits, alone or as a couple, with best friends or the whole family.

Pumpkin Head Photoshoot AI skips the pumpkin and the studio. Upload a photo and the AI replaces your head with a carved jack-o'-lantern lit from inside, keeping your body shape, the skin tone on your hands and your outfit, then places you in the scene: a vintage chair in a foggy studio, or a golden-hour field with hay bales for two. Want the real thing? The steps for a real pumpkin photoshoot are below.

How to do a pumpkin photoshoot for real

With a real pumpkin and a camera, in six steps:

1Pick the pumpkinChoose a pumpkin big enough to go over your head, cut a hole in the bottom and hollow it out.
2Carve the faceCarve the face, and cut the eye holes where your own eyes will be so you can see out.
3Light itPut a battery LED light inside instead of a real candle.
4Set the sceneHang a dark backdrop and scatter autumn leaves and a few small pumpkins on the floor.
5Light the shotUse one warm key light from the side and shoot from a low angle.
6PoseSit on a vintage chair, hold hands with your partner, or hold a small pumpkin in your lap.

How to write a pumpkin head prompt

Say the whole head is replaced by a large carved jack-o'-lantern that sits on the neck and shoulders.
Pick the face: a classic triangle-eyes grin, a sweet smile, a jagged scary grin.
Light it from inside: “warm candlelight glowing inside the carved face”.
Set the scene: a vintage chair in a moody studio with fog and autumn leaves, or a field at golden hour.
Keep the line that says your body shape, the skin tone on your hands and your outfit stay as in the photo.

What photo works best for Pumpkin Head Photoshoot AI?

A photo of one adult, full body or half body, with the outfit clearly visible. The head is swapped, so the clothes, the pose and the hands matter more than the face.

Will my face show in the picture?

No. The prompt asks for your whole head to be replaced by the pumpkin, so the picture shows your body shape, the skin tone on your hands and your outfit, not your face.

Can I do a couple pumpkin head photoshoot?

Yes. Pick the couple card and add two photos: you stand side by side holding hands in a pumpkin field. It works for best friends too.

Can I change the pumpkin’s face?

Yes. Change the face words in the prompt before you press Generate, for example “a jagged scary grin” or “a winking face” instead of “a classic triangle-eyes grin”.

Can I turn the picture into a video?

Yes. Under your result, tap Animate it: the picture opens on image to video as the first frame, and you can make a short clip of it.

How long does it take?

Usually under a minute for one picture. It is saved in My creations, so you can leave the page while it works.

Do I need an account?

Not to read or copy a prompt. To make it here, sign up for a free account: the card, the prompt and your photos are still there when you come back.
