How to make a Seedance 2.5 video
- 1
Describe the shot
Write who is in the scene, what happens and how the camera moves. Or upload a photo to start from it.
- 2
Pick the settings
Choose the aspect ratio, 480p / 720p / 1080p and 5–30 seconds. The credits update before you generate.
- 3
Generate and download
Each run renders one video, ready to download (no watermark on paid plans); if a run fails, its credits are refunded.
What it does well
Text to video
Describe the people, the action and the camera, and the whole shot is rendered from your words. No footage needed.
Image to video
Upload a still as the first frame and bring it to life while the composition, the faces and the light stay the same.
Consistent characters
Add reference images of a person or a product and keep them the same across new scenes, angles and shots.
Sound in the same pass
Dialogue, effects and ambience are generated with the picture, so there is nothing to dub afterwards.
Settings and prices
Video is billed per second of output; the button always shows the exact total before you generate.
| Setting | Price | Example | Unlimited plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| 480p | 40 credits / second | 5-second clip = 200 credits | Uses credits |
| 720p | 80 credits / second | 5-second clip = 400 credits | Uses credits |
| 1080p | 200 credits / second | 5-second clip = 1000 credits | Uses credits |
Prompt tips for better videos
Lead with the subject and the action
Start with who or what is on screen and what changes during the clip: "a chef flips a pancake", not "cooking". One clear action per shot gives the steadiest motion.
Name one camera move
Pick one: slow push-in, tracking shot, orbit or handheld. Say where it starts and where it ends; stacking several moves in a short clip tends to look jittery.
Set the light, the lens and the mood
Golden hour, neon night or soft studio light; a 35mm wide shot or an 85mm close-up. These words change the look far more than "beautiful" or "cinematic" on their own.
Write the sound you want
Put dialogue in quotes and list the sounds: footsteps on gravel, rain on a window, a crowd cheering. They are generated together with the picture.
Example prompt
A cyclist rides through a rainy neon street at night, puddles splashing under the wheels. Slow tracking shot from the side, 35mm, reflections on the wet asphalt. Sound: rain, tires on water, distant traffic.

480p: 40 credits per second; 720p: 80 credits per second; 1080p: 200 credits per second. The exact total is shown on the Generate button before you start.
How long can the videos be?

Yes. Dialogue, effects and ambience are generated in the same pass.
How long does a generation take?
Usually 1–5 minutes for a video. You can leave the page open, and every result is also saved in My creations.
Is it included in the Unlimited plan?
It uses credits on every plan; on Unlimited it is 40% off with the credits that come with the plan.
Can I use the videos commercially?
Yes, on yearly plans, which include a commercial license. Results from any paid plan or credit pack download without a watermark.
What happens if a generation fails?
The credits for a failed run go back to your balance automatically, and you can try again with a different prompt or setting.
Is this the official Seedance 2.5 website?
No. It is made by ByteDance; we are an independent platform that runs it next to other video and image models with one credit balance.
Which aspect ratios are supported?
21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16, plus Auto, which follows your input. When you start from a photo, the clip keeps the photo’s shape.
