FLUX.3 Klein is the small model of Black Forest Labs' FLUX.3 generation, released in October 2026 with open weights: 5.6B parameters, made to run on a single consumer GPU. On Vidlark you use it in the browser instead: text to image, or edits that change one photo or combine up to 8, at 1K, 2K. A 1K image is 30 credits, and free accounts can use it with the sign-up credits.

Black Forest Labs built Klein to change the part of a photo you name and leave the rest as it was: swap a background, change a colour, add an object.
Several photos into one
Combine up to 8 photos in one picture: a person from one, an outfit from another, a room from a third.
Small and quick
A 5.6B model: in our tests a 1K image came back in about five seconds, an edit with two photos in about ten.

Prompt tips for better images
Describe the whole picture
Klein is trained on detailed captions: write what the finished image shows, subject, setting, light and style, rather than a few keywords.
Say which photo is which
In an edit, name the photos in the prompt: "the man from image 1 wearing the coat from image 2, in a white studio".
Quote the words
Put any text in quotes and keep it short: a title like 'VIDLARK' renders more reliably than a paragraph.

Is FLUX.3 Klein free?
The open weights are a free download on Hugging Face, if you have a GPU to run them, under the FLUX Kommunity License; using them in a product needs a commercial license from Black Forest Labs. On Vidlark you can run it in the browser with the 100 sign-up credits and no card: a 1K image is 30 credits.
Is FLUX.3 Klein open source?
It is open-weight rather than open source in the strict sense. The weights (5.6B parameters, made to run on a single consumer GPU) are on Hugging Face under the FLUX Kommunity License; read it on the model card before you use them. Running Klein in a product needs a commercial license from Black Forest Labs.
FLUX.3 Klein vs FLUX.2 Klein: what changed?
FLUX.2 Klein (January 2026) came as a 4B model under Apache 2.0 and a 9B model under a non-commercial license. FLUX.3 Klein is one 5.6B model from the new FLUX.3 generation, with photo editing and combining several references built in. We have not benchmarked the two side by side; Vidlark runs FLUX.3 Klein only.
Can FLUX.3 Klein edit my photos?
Yes. Upload up to 8 photos and describe the picture you want: it edits one photo or combines several, for example a product from one photo in the scene of another. An edit costs the same as a new image at that size.
Who makes FLUX.3 Klein?
Black Forest Labs, the team behind FLUX, released it in October 2026. Vidlark runs the model through an API provider and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Black Forest Labs.
